- 'The Day War Came': A picture book by Nicola Davies, illustrated by Rebecca Cobb, with two curriculum-linked teacher guides (junior and senior) created by Global Village to explore the themes of war and conflict, migration and inclusion in accessible and child-friendly ways. Available in English and as Gaeilge on our classroom resources webpage. Read-aloud versions are available on YouTube in both English and as Gaeilge.
- 'The Promise': A picture book by Nicola Davies, illustrated by Laura Carlin, with two curriculum-linked teacher guides (junior and senior) designed by Global Village to explore environmental awareness, sustainability and inclusivity. Available in English and as Gaeilge on our classroom resources webpage. A read-aloud of the picture book is available in English.
- GCE Resource Padlet: We regularly update our Global Village Padlet of GCE resources for primary school teachers, sourced from a range of organisations and arranged by curriculum area (using the revised Primary Curriculum Framework) and theme. We also recommend DevelopmentEducation.ie and Scoilnet.ie for further resources.
- Whole School Global Citizenship Education Reflection Framework: This set of reflection questions can guide a whole-staff discussion on GCE priorities for the year.

- GCE Outreach Directory for Primary Schools in Ireland: A new resource designed to make it easier for teachers to find and access high-quality GCE workshops, visits and outreach. Organised by curriculum links and themes, it highlights what different NGOs and education providers can offer your school, helping connect classroom learning to the Sustainable Development Goals and wider global issues in practical, engaging ways. Online Communities of Practice

Research
The Global Village programme is grounded in Irish and international research, including work by colleagues at Dublin City University (DCU). As part of the Global Village programme, DCU is conducting a research study on Global Citizenship Education and School Leadership. We are seeking primary school principals and deputy principals to participate in focus groups between October and December 2025. More information is available, and an Expression of Interest form can be completed by interested participants.
Bursaries for Further Education
Global Village offers a bursary (between €500 and €1,000, depending on budget and the number of interested participants) for primary school teachers who complete the Certificate in Global Citizenship Education at Maynooth University or the MEd in Sustainability and Global Citizenship at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.
