Young Engineers Award
The STEPS Young Engineers Award 2024-2025 is now open for registration! Aimed at 3rd and 4th class teachers, this exciting competition will empower students to design solutions for a local community problem. There is also the opportunity to request an engineer visit to your classroom to inspire the children! Register at: https://steps.smapply.io/
To enter the competition, we require a completed project book (for each team) to be submitted by midnight Thursday 14th December.
Teams can be in groups of up to 6 students per group
Here is the list of items to submit:
- a completed steps project book per team
- optional - photos or video content. Please note these will not be included in the judging material. Only the project book will be judged.
As part of the STEPS Young Engineers Award, schools are also encouraged to invite local engineers, or sign up for a STEPS Volunteer Engineer, to visit their classroom. During this visit, children can showcase their projects and learn about the important role of engineering in the community.
