EPV Approved - STEM in the Primary School Classroom

This course aims to equip primary school teachers with the knowledge and resources to confidently undertake STEM in their classroom. Find out what STEM really looks like as we explore Integrated STEM from junior infants to sixth class along with the role of mathematics and ICT in STEM. Participants will have the opportunity to delve into STEM challenges, coding and will also discover fun and playful maths games to use in their classrooms which align with the new Maths Curriculum. 

Learning Outcomes

• Empower participants to feel more confidentto teach STEM in their class by tackling common misconceptions.
• Inform participants of research-based methods to teach STEM
• Equip teachers with a range of STEM  challenges, websites and applications.
• Enable teachers to critically analyse STEM lessons
• Develop their understanding of the role of maths and technology in STEM.

Course dates: Wednesday 1st July - Tuesday 7th July

Time: 9.30 a.m. to 2.00 pm daily, 20 hrs in total.

Venue:  Wexford Education Support Centre

Catering:  A light lunch will be provided at 11.30 a.m. each day.

Cost: €50.00. 

Summer Course Booking Policy

Our summer courses are booked on the condition that the course fee is non-refundable.

Wexford Education Support Centre reserves the right to cancel a Summer Course where there are not sufficient numbers to run the course. A full refund will be offered if this happens or you may also choose to reserve a place on an alternative course. 

Please note: Participants attending Summer Courses receive the following number of EPV days:  

• Full Attendance (20 Hours): 3 EPV Days
• 4 Days Attendance (16 Hours): 2 EPV Days 
• No EPV days will be awarded for less than 4 days attendance
• Please note: Closing Date for Registration is Friday 19th June 2026
