Promoting Reading for Pleasure in the classroom

This course offers teachers the opportunity to develop their knowledge of Reading for Pleasure in today’s classroom, while considering the Primary Curriculum Framework. Teachers will explore contemporary research and practices associated with Reading for Pleasure. Practical ideas which can be used in the classroom will be shared by the tutor, and participants will have the opportunity to share ideas they have found useful also.

Learning Outcomes :

- Reflect on their current knowledge of reading for pleasure and practices they have engaged in to promote Reading for Pleasure in the classroom

- Explore and analyse practices which can be used to promote Reading for Pleasure

- Identify and implement contemporary strategies to promote Reading for Pleasure in the classroom
