Considering the neurobiology of stress, it's impact on behaviour and what we can do about it in our schools and classrooms. We will consider what the student is trying to communicate about the challenges they face in school and why it can be so challenging for us as teachers to interpret their communication early enough to prevent the "challenging behaviour" that presents. This is a two part seminar. Session 2 will take place after a gap of three weeks to allow participants to observe the theory in action in their classrooms and will focus on practical and realistic classroom strategies.
