Many children attending our schools are living with diabetes. These webinars will give an overview of diabetes and how it may impact on a student during the school day. It is suitable for teachers and SNAs who are working with children with diabetes in the school setting. The following topics will be addressed in part 2:

Session 2: - Diabetes Coma - Ketoacidosis (DKA) - Insulin pumps - Flash Glucose Monitors and Continuous Glucose Monitors - Loops Systems - Celebrate it! - Assisting at school - Diabetes and mental health - Walkthrough of useful documentation and supports for schools - Links to a variety of resources and supports

 Learning outcomes for session two:

1. Distinguish between an insulin pump and a flash/continuous glucose monitor.

2. Identify two-four ways in which schools can support the mental health of young people living with diabetes.

3. Choose two resources which your school can implement to better support students living with diabetes.
