Information Evening on Nurture Group Theory & Practice Course.
The course is based on the six principles of a Nurture Group, and intervention for the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of children in schools.
The six principles of Nurture
1. Children’s learning is understood developmentally
2. The Classroom offers a safe base
3.The importance of transitions in Children’s lives
4. All behaviour is communication
5. Language is a vital means of communication
6. The importance of nurture for the development of wellbeing
This course, which is open to teachers, SNAs and school leaders, will provide the information, case studies, skills and strategies needed to create a nurturing ethos among the busy school community.
Participants will be trained in using Boxall Profile Assessments, guided through a typical day in Nurture Group, given strategies of how to spot a child in need of nurture and create strategies to implement positive change in their school communities.
