COURSE FULL - Attention Autism with Middletown Centre for Autism
Gina Davies' Attention Autism programme targets the teaching of attention, communication and social interaction skills. This training for Teachers is aimed at children in the early years age range. However, the programme can be adapted for those in the 5-11 years age range.
The aim of this 2-day training course is to teach participants to deliver the Early/ Primary Attention Autism Programme - Stages 1-4 effectively (attendance on both days is required)
The training is lecture and workshop based. Participants will be challenged to consider how traditional methods of teaching attention and communication to children with autism could be adapted to offer “an irresistible invitation to learn.” Gina Davies. Participants will be encouraged to think creatively about activities.
• Consider attention and social communication skills in the context of autism
• Learn how to gain and maintain pupils’ attention in a group setting
• Feel confident in delivering Stages 1 and 2 of the programme in school.
